Weight Update: 23lbs and Counting

Hey just wanted to update folks on my weight loss:

I have been going to the gym 5-6 days a week for about 3 hours a day.  So I have not only been losing weight and gaining muscles.  So here are the stats:

Beginning weight:  295lbs
Current weight:     272lbs
Weight loss:          -23lbs
% weight loss:      7.8%

My 1st huge goal is set at 150lbs
My 1st little goal is below 270 = new hair do
My 2nd little goal is below 250 = Manicure/Pedicure

Please help me through words of encouragement and of course prayer!!!!

Oh yeah I am so thrilled that my sister Lindsey joined the gym with me and is losing weight like car keys!!!
I am also very proud of my Mom and Becky for taking charge and in a weightloss challenge.
I also want to mention my bestest friend Krissy for working hard to lose 40+lbs and working to lose more. 
I love all you guys!!!

Just A Update... 1 Month

I have lost a total of 17 lbs.  I have 3 more lbs to go before my next reward.  Since it is flip flop season, I will going and getting my toenails done.  Nothing better than pretty toes but I seriously feel sorry for the lady that has to tackle my ugly, worn out feet.  I have went from 20 minute cardio workouts to 1 1/2 hour cardio workout.  I will post another picture when I have hit the 20lb mark, which I hope to be by the end of this week.  Thank you for your support and encouragement.  Details to follow.
 3/8/10 - 295 lbs
4/13/10 - 278 lbs
total loss = 17 lbs
goal weight = 150 lbs
weight to lose = 128lbs
Long way to go but day by day, I am taking steps to get there and beyond.

Almost One Month Later

Ok, it has been about a month since I started my healthy living to lose a good bit of weight.  During spring break and Easter weekend, I really did not eat all that well or work-out like I should.  I did lose some and gained some but my overall weightloss at this point is 14lbs.  I will post a picture again soon, even though I am not feeling any different.  Thanks again for your support and please continue to pray for me because this is really a difficult lifestyle change for me.  Here is a picture of my current weight on the scales.

Week 3 Update

Well as this morning I have loss a total of 11lbs.  I am super excited and look forward to lossing my next 9lbs.  I am rewarded myself today by getting my hair colored and cut.  Thank you for your encouragement and so happy that I have all the accountability that I have.  Stay tuned for further updates.

Week 2, Day 3 - You Win Some And You Lose Some

My journal entry will be short and not sweet today..  I did terrible today!!  I really didn't eat that bad but didn't do anything but sleep, lay in the bed, and eat.  No gym.... URGH.. Tomorrow is another day.

Week 2, Day 2 - Lovin On Some Shrimp Salad

Today was actually a bad day!!  I won't go into details but just trust me it was not pretty.   I guess the good thing about my day was this delicious shrimp salad that I made.  I did not meet all my goals exactly but I was pretty close.  I done 10 minutes on the eliptical and 40 minutes on the stationary bike (level 7.5).  I was going to do another 10 minutes on the bike but Gracies kid fitness class let out early and she was driving me crazy.  I did not meet my goals but I will certainly try harder tomorrow.

Tomorrows goal:
Maybe a water fitness class
- 15 mins. on eliptical
- 45 mins. on stationary bike

Week 2, Day 1 - You Scream, I Scream, We All Scream For Icecream

Today started out to be a bad day!!  I got up at 6:50am and took Gracie to school.  Since Lindsey and I both overslept and could not do what we had to plan to do I laid back down.  I did not get back out of the bed until 2pm... Yes I said 2PM!!!  I felt terrible... so I managed to get to the gym around 3:40pm with a terrible headache.  I did 20 minutes (2% incline) on the treadmill and 15 minutes (level 6) on the stationary bike.  I know it is not as good as my friday work-out but didn't have as much time and my head was killing me.  After eating dinner, Gracies softball practice scrimmage, and homework; Me, Jeff, and Gracie did attempted a So You Think You Can Dance workout video.  We were already pooped after the warm-up.  We didn't actually get thru the video but we will one day!!  The most special part of the day was when I bought some low calorie butter pecan ice cream pop and it was YUMMY!! 
Tomorrows goal:
I would love to go to a water fitness class anywhere from (9a-1p), depending on when Lindsey and I get done.  I would love for her to join me in a class.  We will see.
I will try to do 25 minutes (2.5% incline) on treadmill, 3 minutes on the eliptical (?) and 40 minutes (level 6.5) on stationary bike tomorrow.  Gracie has kid's fitness tomorrow from 4-5pm.

Week 1 - Are You Ready For This?

Well as I mentioned in my previous blog I was going to get serious about losing weight and becoming healthier.  I saw this picture below on my sisters facebook page and could not believe that this is me. 
In this picture I weigh around 295lbs and can not believe it!!! 

Week 1 - After experiencing depression from the above picture and watching the scales go wild when I went to the doctor.  I vow to lose weight starting 3/8/10.  So on Monday, March 8th, Jeff and I joined the gym and this is where my weight loss journey begins.  Jeff and I have been making better food choices, drinking water only, and going to the gym everyday.  I did cardio workout for 20 minutes on Tuesday and by that Friday I was already up to 1 hour of cardio.  I plan on increasing time and intensity everyday.  I have felt so much better since I started eating better and working out.  I believe this healthy change will help me in every part of my life.  I want to be the mom that not only watches my child play but is right up there with her playing.  I have set myself small goals.  My first goal is to lose 10lbs to 285lbs.  I have decided to reward myself with a new haircut after losing my first 10lbs.  I really hate getting on the scales but I decided to get on the scales this evening (1 week) and I am so happy that I have lost 5lbs and now weight 290lbs and feeling so much better.  I will try to post every week and when I reach my goals, so please follow me in the journey and be sure to leave me your comments.
